Natalie Portman Refuses to Display ‘Golden Idol’ Oscar

Natalie Portman is an Oscar-winning actress whose blockbuster hits have made her a household name for more than a decade. But she is not above calling out Hollywood for what she believes is idol worship.

Born in Israel and proud of her Jewish identity, Portman refuses to display the Oscar she won for Best Actress several years ago. Her reason? It’s a false idol.

“I was reading the story of Abraham to my child and talking about, like, not worshipping false idols,” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “And this is literally like gold men.”

The Academy Award statuette, often referred to as an Oscar, is shaped like a shiny, gold-colored man, evoking the comparison to the idol worship Abraham, Moses and other biblical patriarchs had to battle against in trying to keep the hearts and minds of the Jewish people pure and focused on God.

“I don’t know where it is,” she said of the Oscar. “I think it’s in the safe or something. I don’t know. I haven’t seen it in a while.”

“This is literally worshipping gold idols—if you worship it,” she added. “That’s why it’s not displayed on the wall. It’s a false idol.”

500 Year Old Map Was Discovered That Shatters The “Official” History Of The Planet

p-728x400Human history is quite an enigma. We know so little, and much of what we think we know seems to be highly questionable in the wake of new evidence, as well as pre-existing information that challenges our current understanding of the world.

Our world is no stranger to unexplained mystery, and there are numerous examples of verified phenomenon, ancient monuments, books, teachings, understandings and more that lack any explanation and counter what we’ve already been taught. We are like a race with amnesia, able to put together small bits and pieces of our history yet unable to provide any sort of verified explanation. There are still many missing pieces to the puzzle.

One great example is the Piri Reis map, a genuine document that was re-made (copied from older documents) at Constantinople in AD 1513, and discovered in 1929. It focuses on the western coast of Africa, the eastern coast of South America, and the northern coast of Antarctica. It was drawn by the military intelligence of Admiral Piri Reis of the Ottoman era. He is a well-known historical figure whose identity is well established. The Admiral made a copy of it, and the original was drawn based on documents that date back to at least the fourth century BC, and on information obtained by multiple explorers.

Why The Map Is So Compelling

Right off the bat, one of the most compelling facts about the map is that it includes a continent that our history books tell us was not discovered until 1818.

Secondly, the map depicts what is known as “Queen Maud Land,” a 2.7 million-square-kilometer (1 million sq mi) region of Antarctica as it looked millions of years ago. This region and other regions shown on the map are thought to have been covered completely in ice, but the map tells a different story. It shows this area as ice free, which suggests that these areas passed through a long ice-free period which might not have come to an end until approximately six thousand years ago, which again, totally goes against what is taught and currently believed. Today, geological evidence has confirmed that this area could not have been ice-free until about 4000 BC.

Official science has been saying all along that the ice-cap which covers the Antarctic is millions of years old. The Piri Reis map shows that the northern part of that continent has been mapped before the ice did cover it. This means that it was mapped a million years ago, but that’s impossible, since mankind did not exist at that time. Quite the conundrum isn’t it?

Professor Charles Hapgood, who was a university history professor, wrote to the United States Air Force Reconnaissance Technical Squadron (SAC) and they also confirmed that“this indicates the coastline had been mapped before it was covered by the ice-cap.” (1) They also went on to state that “we have no idea how the data on this map can be reconciled with the supposed state of geographical knowledge in 1513.” (1) (The reply was from Harold Z. Ohlmeyer, a Lt Colonel, USAF)

Here’s what Professor Charles Hapgood had to say about it:

“It appears that accurate information has been passed down from people to people. It appears that the charts must have originated with a people unknown and they were passed on, perhaps by the Minoans and the Phoenicians, who were, for a thousand years and more, the greatest sailors of the ancient world. We have evidence that they were collected and studied in the great library of Alexandria (Egypt) and that compilations of them were made by the geographers that worked there.” (1)

Furthermore, the map is very detailed and includes mountain ranges in the Antarctic. which were not even discovered until 1952.

“His idea is original, of great simplicity, and – if it continues to prove itself – of great importance to everything that is related to the history of the Earth’s surface.” – Einstein on Hapgood’s interpretations of the map (1)(2) (From a forward Einstein wrote for Hapgood in one of his books)

So if what we always known about the earth history being millions of years old is being shaken now, maybe the whole idea of evolution and natural selection is baseless and inaccurate.

“If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down.”
Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species

It has been found out a very long time ago through archaeologic researches and discoveries that complex organisms have existed at a very early stages of human history.  Why are we surprised at all that the earth may not be as old as we thought it is.

Second Chance From God – Benny Se Teo

Benny Se Teo considers himself a hardcore addict as he recalls those dark years when he was under the bondage of drugs and sins. He started taking drugs soon after he left school at 17. As a youngster, he was curious and eager to try new things. He always thought that he could quit any time when he got tired of it. His first brush against the law was in 1982 when he was caught for drug consumption at the age of 22. The judge was lenient then and he only had to pay a fine for the offence and to report to Teen Challenge for the rehabilitation programme. At Teen Challenge, he learned about Jesus and what He has done for us. Intending to change, he accepted Jesus as his saviour then.

Upon his completion of the programme in Teen Challenge, he went back to his old friends. Despite believing in Jesus, he still loved the world and refused to surrender his will to God. He was physically cleansed of drugs but mentally, he was still not ready to give it up altogether. Very soon, the temptation was too strong for him and he was on drugs again.

ST_20140414_LJBENNY_228337eIn 1983, Benny was caught again and this time, he was incarcerated. Upon his release, he went to another halfway house to continue his rehabilitation. But his craving for drugs was too strong for him and no sooner, he was hooked again. The vicious cycle continued and he was in and out of prison and drug rehabilitation centres numerous times for the next ten years. Each time he was released, he would go to a halfway house hoping that he could kick the habit. But most of the time, he would give up and run away from the halfway house. The story would then repeat all over again.

God intervened in 1993 when he was incarcerated in Selarang Park Drug Rehabilitation Centre. It seemed that there was a spiritual revival in the prison. His fellow inmates boldly professed and openly displayed their Christian faith. Sunday chapel services conducted by brothers from SANA CCS were well attended. It was something that he had never witnessed in those other times when he was there.

Then came news of other former drug addicts turning over a new leaf and started to lead a drug-free life. They were a great encouragement to all. One of them was Don Wong, whom Benny came to know when they were in prison together. Don had managed to break the bondage of drugs and was working towards being a pastor. Benny was thinking then: “If they can change by the grace of God, I am sure God can help me change too”.

His new resolve was not without challenge. When he was released from prison in 1993, he wondered whether any halfway house would take him in, given his bad recEastpoint12-51ords with all of them. But God opened the way for him. Robert Yeo, from The Helping Hands, not only opened his halfway house to him, he excused him from the mandatory programme for all released prisoners. In fact, he said, “As long as you are free from drugs, you can stay as long as you like.”

This kind act touched Benny. He thought he was a hopeless case and no one would believe him. But Robert’s faith in him showed him that God still loves him and cares about him despite what he had done.

But life was not easy for Benny. He could not find a job initially because of his records. But by God’s grace, he finally landed a job as a dispatch rider. He worked hard and stayed away from drugs, always remembering that others had trusted him and given him a second chance. After six years, he had saved enough to start his own courier service company.images

In 2005, he ventured into the food and beverages industry as cooking is his passion. To learn more about this industry, he got himself an internship at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant in London. When he came back to Singapore in 2007, he started his Eighteen Chefs restaurant. By 2009, he had expanded his business to 4 outlets island-wide.

Remembering how God has given him a chance and his difficulties in getting a job back in 1993, he vowed to help those ex-drug offenders who wanted to change. Whenever his company recruits new staff, he will always give job applicants with criminal records a more favourable consideration than others. In this way, he hopes to pass on to others the grace that he has received -just as Jesus said in Luke: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Lk 6:31.

May God continue to use Benny’s life and ministry to extend a helping hand to those ensnared by drug addiction.

Zhejiang Authorities Remove Cross, Continue Persecution Campaign

lishui cross(Lishui, Zhejiang–May 4, 2015) Zhejiang authorities continued the province-wide persecution campaign against registered and unregistered Protestant and Catholic churches on April 23 when they removed the cross topping a Protestant church in Longquan neighborhood in the city of Lishui.

Local reports state that more than 100 police officers and demolition specialists were dispatched to the church, whose registration status is unknown, at 3 a.m. on April 23. A local Christian told China Aid that many church members stood outside the church after learning of the ongoing demolition and prayed. By 5 a.m., the cross had been removed.

When a China Aid reporter contacted the church, the church member who answered the phone declined to answer questions, saying it was “not appropriate” and that he couldn’t “answer … questions directly.”

This cross removal comes after three other cross demolitions in Zhejiang in the month of April.

“One thing I’m sure of is that the authorities in Zhejiang are taking down crosses again, and they are doing it everywhere,” Pastor Zhang Mingxuan, president of the Chinese House Church Alliance, said. “From Ningbo to Lishui, they have begun to remove crosses. I believe the statement made by the central government that they will stop demolishing churches in Zhejiang is a lie. Local officials taking down Christian crosses is persecution of Christianity.”

China Aid reports on cases such as these cross demolitions in order to expose the abuse encountered by religious practitioners in China.

Wake Up Church! Christians Dying for their Faith

From the Middle East to sub-Saharan Africa Christians are enduring attacks for their faith like never before. According to the Pew Research Center, no religious group is persecuted in more countries around the world than Christians.

This week the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) said Islamic countries are the worst offenders of religious freedom. In their annual report, the commission found that 12 of the 17 nations with the worst record of religious freedom are Islamic or Muslim-majority countries.

For the first, USCIRF is also calling on the International Criminal Court to bring charges against the Islamic State for attacks on religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq and Syria.

“The non-state actors choose to be more brutal and more unrestrained in the actions that they take against targeted groups,” Katrina Lantos Swett, chair of the commission, told Deseret News. “When you are dealing in a world where uncontrolled, uncontainable and extremely violent non-state actors are ranging so freely that has created an even more frightening situation for religious freedom.”

Meanwhile, author Johnnie Moore says a Christian Holocaust is unfolding across the Middle East and the world, especially the Body of Christ, cannot afford to remain silent.

In his book, Defying ISIS: Preserving Christianity in the Place of Its Birth and in Your Own Backyard, Moore details the ISIS threat and what Christians can do defeat the terror group’s perverted theology.

Cuban Churches Thriving Despite Incredible Poverty

As relations between the United States and Cuba begin to thaw a surprising spiritual reality is emerging, the Cuban Church is thriving.

In the midst of opposition and incredible poverty, Cuban Baptists, Assemblies of God, and other denominations are reporting amazing growth in their churches throughout the country.

In the past 20 years, Baptist churches have grown from several hundred to more than 7,000. Assemblies of God churches that once numbered less than 100 members now have more than 10,000 church comers proclaiming the Gospel.

“The Church not only survived, but in the midst of those pressures and difficulties it grew. It grew solid,” Cuban Pastor Moises De Prado said.

At the core of Cuba’s church growth are house churches springing up across the island.

Back in the 1990s, the Cuban government told churches they could not build any new buildings. Consequently, church growth became very, very easy, as Christians simply began meeting in homes.

Surprisingly, many also believe that Cuba’s poverty has fueled its church growth.  With many Cubans existing on less than $30 a month, there’s simply not the money to pursue entertainment, hobbies or other pursuits that would pull them from the Gospel.

“One church leader told me, ‘That is one of the reasons that church members spend so much time in church activities.  They can spend more time evangelizing their neighbors because they’re not distracted by a lot of material goods,” CBN News Producer Stan Jeter said.

Church leaders say one fruit of all this growth is an emerging missions movement in Cuba.

Hundreds of believers are considering or planning to head overseas as missionaries. Given their single-minded focus and long-term experience with hardship, they may be uniquely qualified to travel to new lands to spread the Gospel.
